Shoots and scenes

A shoot is a named collection of photos. A photo can live in more than one shoot, so the same frame can sit in "Wedding" and "Portfolio" without being duplicated on disk. Within a shoot, scenes are sub-groups (ceremony, portraits, reception) with their own order.

Open Shoots from the sidebar to see all your shoots as cards, each showing its cover, photo count, scene count, and whether it is synced to the cloud.

  • Choose New shoot to create one. You can give it a name, description, and colour.
  • Add photos by selecting them in the library and using the context menu, or import straight into a shoot.
  • Double-click a shoot to open it; single-click selects, and Shift or Cmd/Ctrl-click selects several.
  • Sort the overview by newest, oldest, recently updated, name, or photo count, and switch between grid and list.

Inside a shoot you can Share for proofing, Auto-organize into scenes, or Import more photos. The info sidebar lets you rename the shoot, edit its description and colour, pick a cover image, and see the people detected across it.

Scenes keep a long day tidy inside one shoot. Create them yourself, or use Auto-organize: pick a Scene sensitivity and Selekt groups the photos into scenes by the gaps between capture times, then choose Organize. Click a scene to filter the shoot down to it.

Every shoot can have a cover image so it is easy to spot in the overview. Set one from the info sidebar, or Selekt uses the first photo until you choose.
