Cull with the keyboard

Culling is where Selekt earns its keep. The whole flow is built around the keyboard so your hands never leave home row: judge a frame, and Selekt advances to the next automatically.

  1. Select the first frame in the grid.
  2. Press a verdict key. The badge snaps on and Selekt auto-advances to the next frame.
  3. Keep going. A big shoot collapses to your keepers in minutes.
  4. Filter to Pick in the sidebar to see just your selects.

Key Action

Space Open Quickview, a fullscreen preview like macOS Quick Look
Escape Close Quickview, or exit loupe mode

Click a frame in the preview to enter loupe mode for a true 100% pixel-level zoom, then drag or use the arrow keys to pan. Click again or press Escape to exit.

Select multiple frames first (Shift-click for a range, Cmd/Ctrl-click to toggle, or Cmd/Ctrl+A for all), then press a verdict key to apply it to the whole selection. The same works for tagging and adding frames to a shoot.

For JPG + RAW pairs, press Shift+R to mark whether a pair's RAW is worth keeping. Selekt's Smart export then exports only the developed JPG for frames you marked don't-keep-RAW, so you keep the files that matter and reclaim the rest. Everything starts as keep-RAW, so nothing is dropped unless you say so.
