Send to Lightroom
Once you have culled, Selekt hands your selects to your editor. Despite the name, this works with any tool that reads XMP: Lightroom, Capture One, Bridge, and similar.
Exporting
Section titled “Exporting”Select the photos you want, then choose Send to... in the library header (or Send to from a shoot's context menu) to open the Send to editor modal. You have two options:
- Create XMP sidecar files (on by default) writes a
.xmpnext to each photo carrying your verdicts and tags. Your editor reads these as star ratings and colour labels: Pick becomes 5 stars / green, Maybe 3 stars / yellow, Reject 0 stars / red. Existing sidecars are never overwritten. - Copy files to Selects folder (off by default) copies the actual files into a
Selects/folder for the shoot, at{library}/{YYYY}/{YYYY-MM-DD_ShootName}/Selects/.
When you export from a shoot, you can choose a scene and filter by Picks only, Picks + Maybe, or All images. Choose Export N images to run it.
Tracking what you have sent
Section titled “Tracking what you have sent”Selekt remembers what it has exported. The modal shows how many of the current selection were previously exported, so on a later pass you always know what has already moved on to editing.
Keeping RAWs out of it
Section titled “Keeping RAWs out of it”If you copy files to a Selects folder, the Smart file-type option only copies the RAW for photos you have marked as worth keeping. See Saving space on RAWs.
- Saving space on RAWs - the keep-RAW flag and Smart export.
- Social export - platform-sized crops.
