People and faces
Selekt can detect faces and help you put names to them, so you can pull up every photo of a person in one click. Face detection is part of AI analysis and needs a signed-in account with cloud features on.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”- Run analysis so Selekt detects the faces in each frame.
- Open the AI view and switch to the People tab.
- Choose Suggest people. Selekt matches faces from your analyzed photos against each other and against people you already have.
Suggestions and unknown people
Section titled “Suggestions and unknown people”Selekt presents its findings as groups:
- Suggested people are faces it thinks belong to someone you already named. Use Accept all to confirm the group, or Reject it.
- Unknown person clusters are groups of similar faces with no name yet. For each, type a name and choose Create and assign, or assign the cluster to an existing person.
To create people by hand or rename and delete them, use Manage people. Every person gets a cover automatically from their best available face.
Working through clusters at scale
Section titled “Working through clusters at scale”A big shoot can surface a lot of unknown-person clusters. To move quickly:
- Tick one cluster's checkbox and the view enters multi-select mode. From there you can click anywhere on a cluster card to toggle it, so you are not hunting for the small checkbox. A bar at the top lets you name and assign, or ignore, every selected cluster at once.
- Use Ignore on noise (a face off a TV screen, a passing stranger) so it stays out of future suggestions. You can hide the smallest clusters too.
- Restore anything you hid from Previously ignored, with Restore all or by clicking a single face.
A person's photos
Section titled “A person's photos”Open a person to see all their photos. Select frames there and you can open them in the library or Unassign a face that was matched by mistake.
