Settings

Settings are grouped into a few sections. Here is what each one controls.

  • Appearance - the app theme: Light, Dark, or System.
  • Workflow - Auto-advance to the next photo after you set a verdict, how rejected images appear in the All filter (Show, Dim, or Hide), and the default filter on launch.
  • Import - open the import dialog automatically when a card is connected, Duplicate handling (Skip, Rename, or Replace), Preview quality, Organize by date, Auto-score on import, and a Score all images button.
  • Locations - where your Photos library lives (change it here to move imports to another drive). Your database is kept on local disk automatically. This is also where you regenerate missing thumbnails and clear out entries whose files were deleted after import.
  • Database - view database health and manage backups. Selekt takes an automatic backup before every update; you can also Create, Restore, or Delete backups here.
  • Selekt Cloud - Enable cloud features, sign in or out, and see your monthly usage.
  • AI analysis - toggle Auto-analyze on import and Detect faces, set the Minimum confidence, and Reset analysis. See AI analysis.
  • Privacy - the Help improve Selekt toggle for usage and technical data: feature activity, photo counts and formats, app and device details, your plan, and approximate location derived from your IP address. No photos, filenames, names, or email addresses are ever collected. Every install gets a random device identifier, so activity is linkable per installation even when signed out; signing in links that identifier to a one-way hash of your account. That makes the data pseudonymous rather than anonymous.
  • Keyboard shortcuts - view and rebind shortcuts. See the keyboard shortcuts reference.
  • Updates - check for and install app updates, and open the release notes. See Installing and updating Selekt.
  • Advanced - Restart onboarding to re-run the first-launch wizard.
