AI analysis

Selekt's AI analysis tags your photos and detects faces for you. It runs in the cloud, so it needs a signed-in account with cloud features enabled. Everything else in Selekt works offline without it.

For each photo, analysis produces:

  • Tags from detected objects, scenes, and concepts. New tags are created automatically, and Selekt can suggest groupings for them.
  • Faces, which power the People and faces feature.

Open the AI view. The overview shows how many photos are still unscanned; choose Analyze to work through them. You can also turn on Auto-analyze on import in Settings so new photos are analyzed as they arrive.

In Settings > AI analysis you can tune:

  • Detect faces - include face detection (age and emotion), on by default.
  • Minimum confidence - only keep labels above the confidence you set (50 to 95 percent).

AI analysis draws on your monthly cloud allowance. See your usage in Settings > Selekt Cloud and on the account page, where Image analysis shows how much of the month's quota you have used. Paid plans show a much larger allowance, and if you hit it, Selekt offers a top-up for the rest of the month.

Separately from cloud analysis, Selekt can score each photo's technical quality (focus, exposure, blur) on your own machine. Turn on Auto-score on import, or run Score all images, both in Settings > Import. Scores drive the score sort and the Score filter in grid and list views.

To re-analyze everything, use Reset analysis in Settings > AI analysis. It clears the analysis state on every photo so they can be scanned again. It does not delete tags you already have, and because it cannot be undone you confirm by typing RESET.
