Smart crop
When you crop a photo for social, Smart crop positions the crop for you using the faces Selekt detects, so the subject stays in frame instead of getting cut off.
Using it
Section titled “Using it”- Open a photo and go to the crop controls in the export sidebar (see Social export).
- Pick the aspect ratio you want.
- Choose Smart crop.
Selekt suggests a crop centered on the people in the shot. You can still drag to fine-tune it afterwards, or choose Reset to start again. Use the arrow keys to nudge the crop, holding Shift for larger steps.
Behind the scenes
Section titled “Behind the scenes”Smart crop needs face data. If the photo has not been analyzed yet, choosing Smart crop analyzes it first (with face detection on), then places the crop. If no faces are found, it falls back to a centered crop.
Because it uses cloud analysis, Smart crop needs a signed-in account with cloud features enabled. Plain manual cropping works without it.
